I had lunch at Ella in Culver City the Monday after New Year’s with a few of my girlfriends. I love being a lady who lunches. We shared some salads and I had wine. Even though it was technically a holiday, it still felt so civilized -- not eating at my desk shoveling lettuce into my mouth hunched over my keyboard.

After a life altering moment at 25 years old, I left New York City and moved to San Francisco away from everything I had known, to go find myself.
